Vactube Style Asset Pack
All the assets I made/used for Laser Catapult Redux (and Cathartic) in one handy set! This includes: - An expanded set of vactube curves (the base game set is 01-06, mine adds 07-16) - Frame models for the floor sections seen in Laser Catapult - A circular version of the piston platform topper - The custom elevator/tram from the end of Laser Catapult - A set of curved handrail models - Modified/split-up variants of several turbine elevator pieces - The original vmfs and instances for both Laser Catapult and Cathartic (plus some test maps and an asset zoo) - Loads more! Think of this like a vactube style starter pack. I'd love to see more maps made in this style, and they're really fun to make, so why not give it a go? Note: I've tried to include everything you'd need to open and compile the vmf's out of the box, so this pack does include some assets by other creators as well (Valla-Chan, Hazel Webbs, TeamSpen210, and Wii2). There's a full list of credits in the readme.
[SP] Old Faithful
This is the second map in a series that began with 'Sphere of Roundness' last week. Version 2.0 of that map is also included in this release, they also transition into each other to make a loop. This time I decided to focus on a single gameplay element for an entire map rather than trying to use every feature available. The map also follows the loose premise of "What if aperture had tested faith plates in the 1950s?" the default faith plate model stands out a little in the underground, so I went for an alternate appearance, see what you think! I have a feeling it is a little easy, but that is mainly down to the overall design, so my next map will aim to be a bit tougher. Sphere of Roundness: I got a huge amount of good feedback for the first map and made a few changes to fix exploits and also clean up the edges a little now that the full SDK has been released. For a full changelog see the readme! Screenshot: http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6006 ... 400001.jpg
[SP] Edifice
A medium-hard, fairly long map in the destroyed chamber style. Summer Mapping Initiative Entry. Installation instructions included in download.
[SP] Oversized Test Chamber Storage Area
FINAL VERSION OF OSTCSA! Changes: -added more decorations in the open area -changed the "malfunction" trigger in area 2 so it does more to show that you can't use those two cubes -added some explanatory text -added env_projectedtextures to enhance the mood -fixed cheat solutions -fixed the glass in area 3 so it will break more easily -made the turrets in the end of area 3 "super damage" so you can't just run past them anymore. This map has some "soft" acheivements (it displays game text rather than giving an actual acheivement) [] Ball Control: In area 1, get the sphere without losing one [] Turrets Syndrome : FIZZLE every single turret in OSTCSA. [] Shatterproof: Solve area 3 without breaking the glass [] The lizard lives: Find the hidden mapmaker's room (found somewhere after area 1)
[SP] Infinifling V2.5
Infinifling pits the player directly into a chamber filled with redirections (we had to have some) and mechanics built on prevailing mid-air portaling techniques, though with less difficulty and more fun.
[Coop] Impetuosity
Average expected playtime: Upgraded to 4 hours, 3 hours was an underestimate Difficulty: Nyskrte-esque Permanent +remote_view and voice communications are advised. I've been working on this beast for two months and I feel now is the time to unleash it. I hope you enjoy it, as always feedback is appreciated. If you want to play my other maps, look to my signature for links. There are now two versions of the map included in the download, mp_coop_halfosity allows you and your partner to continue immediately from completing the triangle chamber. This was done in response to the numerous criticism regarding the map's abnormal length and becoming disconnected due to unreliable internet connections. While this will double the size of the download, I feel it is a moot issue, as the amount of time you will spend playing the map will likely far exceed the time spent downloading it.

[SP] Cubes 'n' Funnels
Yeah, I'm not great at names... This is my contest entry. Not much more to say than that... If you find any new exploits please don't hesitate to point them out. CHANGELOG: v. 1.3 - 6/5/2011 - CONTEST FINAL -Added a means of escaping from either button should the player accidentally end up on one of them via the funnel -Made it so that the player can no longer directly press either button and trigger the autosave when the cube isn't there -Fixed a convoluted exploit that allowed the player to bypass the second part of the funnel puzzle -Changed the way the broken ceiling lighting was set up - there is now some natural light in the room! -Added more details all around -Fixed some aesthetic problems - misaligned textures, glitchy models, etc. (Some small errors may persist; I tried but couldn't find working solutions to a couple of potential minor lighting glitches) -Added an env_wind to make vines sway v. 1.2 - 5/30/2011 -Added signs hinting towards the propulsion gel -Changed the repulsion (bounce) gel button to rise out of the floor when enabled, and start visibly retracted into the floor -(Hopefully) fixed the panel-platform controlled by the right-side floor button getting stuck in the "down" position when the button is pressed -Re-added music, with a little piece of Portal 1 nostalgia (it doesn't loop, but the file I picked doesn't either so it works) -Added more destruction v. 1.1 - 5/27/2011 -Fixed multiple methods through which the player could acquire the cubes in unintended ways, bypassing the main puzzles -Added lights to draw player's attention to potentially hard-to-see testing elements (i.e. portal surfaces in dark-ish areas) -Removed music for now; I might re-add it when I figure out how to make it actually work -Tweaked timing of events on broken sign at the start - it now explodes and dies after 1 second (was 2.5) -Fixed some minor texture alignment issues v. 1.0 - 5/26/2011 -Initial release
