Sp The Part Where V1.1
Contest submission for the 2012 Heavy-duty super-mapping super-contest. ?The Part Where? is a large map made with the collaborative efforts of GLaDOS CUBE and Another Bad Pun. The map offers 25-40 minutes of exploration, puzzle solving, and most importantly, science. You play as one of the coop bots being tested by Wheatley in the torn apart labs of ?Wheatley Laboratories?. Use your wide robotic mindset of puzzle solving techniques, and most importantly, your sense of artificial pain to solve the test in a fashion that even GlaDOS would be proud of. Can you conquer this conundrum? Can you find all of the pony-related easter eggs? Are you up for the challenge? Only one way to find out? Trickery
This is a not-so-big map I made, it started out as a test to see what I could do in Portal 2 Authoring Tools (It's also my first map I ever made in Valve Hammer). It took me quite some time but I think it came out pretty well, even though I've been messy with my brushes :p. I know graphical glitches occur when more than 4 (world)portals are on-screen, but I can't really fix that. There's no indicator lights, those are a pain to place, I'm going to wait until Valve releases the Portal 2 map editor DLC to add those. I might even remake the map! Thanks for playing the map! P.s. My Twitter is Trickboss if you'd like to contact me '-'!
Cube Collector
This is my first map. So please don't be angry, if there's a little error. I have tested the map with a friend, and we think, it works really fine. The players have to collect six cubes in the different rooms of a fortress. But wait! Isn't there one cube too less? Preview screenshots: Lobby: http://files.homepagemodules.de/b29324/ ... 77n228.jpg 1st room: http://files.homepagemodules.de/b29324/ ... 77n229.jpg 2nd room: http://files.homepagemodules.de/b29324/ ... 77n230.jpg 3rd room: http://files.homepagemodules.de/b29324/ ... 77n231.jpg 4th room: http://files.homepagemodules.de/b29324/ ... 77n232.jpg 5th room: http://files.homepagemodules.de/b29324/ ... 77n233.jpg 6th room: Does it exist? Most of the rooms can be played in any order. Note: Some of the cubes are invisible from the beginning, but they appear after pushing a button. So you first have to find the right button, then you have to find the cube, that just appeared. Hope you have fun playing this map! If there are any problems, please feel free to tell me. As I said, it's my first map, and I would be GLaD to get tips, how my maps could become better in the future. But perhaps, you like this as it is! Updated on June 30th, 2011: Updated the 6th puzzle to avoid shortcuts.
The Test
A two-room map featuring a few different puzzle elements. This is, essentially version 0.3. I want to add more decorations, but I'm looking for feedback on what I've got so far. I intend to add more puzzle elements to the second puzzle room. I just wanted to get this out there to see if people think I'm on the right track. I've included both the bsp and the vmf. [Edit] I had used a hacked version of the arrival_departure_transition_ents which might have caused some problems. I've switched over to msleeper's version, which works much better, and is available here: Good Enough For Science (Instance Example + VMF) Added a few more puzzle elements, and switched to animerunt's transitions instance: arrival_departure_transition_ents O
