Portal 2
Petrified
This is a test concept I wanted to try. I may make more with this testing element ; I am not sure. The testing element is a cube that freezes when you drop it, and drops when you hit it. It's relatively easy to make: it's a prop_physics with a cube world model. When it is dropped, it puts itself to Sleep, and when it is picked up, it Wakes. The skin changes to demonstrate this. To play, unzip the file and drag the .bsp into your maps folder ( steam/steamapps/common/portal 2/sdk_content/maps )
Two Broken Chambers
It's my first map mad in Hammer. They are two chambers that are broken, but still functional.
Motanum's Juggling
A simple map I made for the workshop some months ago. I decided it was time to be publicly released. I hope you guys like it and hope we can see you soon with the in game editor! (Note, map made entirely in hammer. I cant post in-game made maps) Again, thanks for rating, the feedback and you can use my site to contact me. To install just put the bsp in your steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/maps folder. Use the console command map to launch it in game.
Rebound
Small two-room puzzle, though I may expand on it in the future. Puzzles are mostly of the cerebral kind, with only a tiny amount of fast portalwork required. Shouldn't be too challenging for experienced players; my first map so didn't want to make it too complex! Can be completed in around 3 minutes if the player knows what to do. Hope you enjoy it! v1.1 - Thanks to John11 for pointing out numerous flaws. Major changes in this version: - Floor in initial room no longer accepts portals (except for under the gel dropper) - Cubes no longer automatically respawn after getting fizzled - New route to fizzler shutdown button - Laser grid added on wall opposite lightbridge - a couple of portal surfaces added/moved to rework puzzles and accommodate changes
Tower of Hanoi Demo
This is a very small map that I have been working on that is a portal adaptation of the Tower of Hanoi puzzle. (Google it, or better yet http://www.mazeworks.com/hanoi/) It is going to be a room in a larger map and everything is essentially in running order (I hope). There isn't an entrance elevator, or an exit, the goal is just to get all the check marks on the exit wall lit up. Basically I used three different style cubes to represent three different size discs, and instead of pegs holding discs I have cases holding cubes. That, and it's upside down...Hard to explain, easy to see. What I really need help with is making this more user friendly for people who walk into this room and have never heard of the tower of Hanoi or what the rules of it are. For example: One rule is that you cant put a larger disc on top of a smaller disc. Simple, but how do I best illustrate this to portal players? (In the case of my level it would be "You cant put cube B below cube A in the glass case" because it is upside down) I put one of the basic rules of the game on the wall of the room, but I think it borderline kills the "portal feel" of the room, and I don't think I should really write out all the rules of the game. So if I could get some feedback on what would make it easier to figure this particular puzzle out, it would be much appreciated.
Destruction
Sequel to my first map, "Interruption", which follows on from the events in that level. This puzzle is much harder - well, atleast I think so. It also includes some more cinematic scenes, on a bit larger scale than those in the first one... (If the excursion funnel doesn't appear make sure you look around properly, but I'd be surprised if anyone missed it) There is a bit of a lighting glitch that occurs near the second-floor glass. I tried for ages to fix it but it refused; it's pretty minor though. Updated to fix two exploits. Updated to replace a texture that you may not have.
Jump Intro - Modern Aperture Sneak Peek
Sneak peek of my mappack that will remake all Cave Johnson chambers as Modern Aperture chambers. have fun. Please, PLEASE read the readme.
Hazardous Infrastructure 2
A sequel to Hazardous Infrastructure. This map incorporates test chambers with industrial themes. In this map you will see a lot of Aperture's infrastructure. However, it's a bit hazardous. Fire, laser fields, crushers, bottomless pits, bombs and of course turrets. All hazards are deadly. Yes, the bombs will kill. Medium difficulty. Once unzipped, place the .bsp file in your game's map folder. steam/steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/maps
PTI element: Vertical doors, Portal1-style doors
I edited Ben's popular door element, and added two more door options into it: The vertical door, seen in the BTS scenes throughout the single player campaign, and the Portal 1 style door, which unfortunately lacks some color details. Click to zoom. (The Portal 1 wall texture was added in between of those doors to illustrate it fitting that style; it is not part of the door.) Download it here: http://bisqwit.iki.fi/kala/ptal2/doors.zip The two new door types are simply added as ButtonType selections into Ben's existing door. All the three different doors use the same icons in the editor...
